About Us:
SRM is a well-established pavement marking company painting lines and providing quality service in British Columbia from the Vancouver Island to the Alberta border for over 25 years.

SRM provides traffic markings on roadways and parking lots including (airports and BC Ferries)! Working for Municipal, Provincial, Federal Governments as well as paving and construction companies.

Position Summary:
These are recurring seasonal positions with plenty of growth opportunities for selected individuals who are career minded, motivated, and have a positive attitude and proven good work ethics.

Those working in this position should expect to travel daily from worksite to worksite with their crew, within the working months of March through October. Based out of Abbotsford BC, with the majority of our work taking place in the Lower Mainland with occasional travel to Vancouver Island and Interior BC.

Due to weather and job load constraints, employees must be able to work a flexible schedule of days, nights and weekends. Long hours will be required on a regular basis during the work season.

Successful candidates for this role will be provided with classroom and on-site training as required.

Job Duties:
This individual will be expected to work hands on with crew members performing a variety of duties including:

  • Operating pavement marking equipment such as paint application machines, removal equipment, as well as hand-held torches and blowers.
  • Assisting with the application of paint, durable markings and glass bead.
  • Assisting in layout of new road markings.
  • Driving various trucks to and from work sites.
  • Directing traffic as required (after TCP certification).
  • Setting up traffic control devices such as signs, delineators and barricades.
  • Lifting, carrying, loading and unloading materials and equipment.
  • Maintaining stencils as needed.
  • Performing minor safety and operational checks.
  • Recognizing unusual or unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action.
  • Performing shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Must be based in the lower mainland of BC or be willing to relocate
  • Valid BC or other Provincial Driver's License (Class 5)
  • Willingness to work assigned night or day shifts with flexibility to work long hours
  • Willingness to travel out of town for short periods of time (hotel, transportation and LOA provided)
  • Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Basic reading/writing ability to comply with road signs, complete paperwork
  • Must be able to receive, understand, and communicate specific instructions
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, clients and the general public in a courteous, professional matter
  • Hard working, reliable team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be able to successfully pass drug screening if requested

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TCP Certification
  • Class 3 Drivers Licence
  • Road Marking Experience
  • First Aid Certificate

Equipment Required:

  • Steel toe boots (all other gear is provided)
