
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Project Manager oversees the management and coordination of paving and construction projects with respect to technical requirements, budget and timelines. The Project Manager is required to plan, organize, and support the paving and construction operation. This position is primarily a field role.
Key Responsibilities
Reviews, assessment and coordination of work to ensure schedules are maintained
Responsible for maintaining the cost control system of the projects, including receiving, approving, coding, submitting of hired equipment & truck tickets accurately, and daily
Liaison with consultants, owners, customers, superintendents, sub-contractors and other project stakeholders regarding safety, project progress, scheduling, change orders and other project issues
Responsible for compliance of project quality requirements and applying appropriate corrective actions when necessary
Troubleshooting of project concerns such as bad weather, scheduling conflicts, quality control issues, subcontractor and/or client concerns and other unforeseeable matters
Coordination of First Calls, digs permits, and other related tasks
Leadership of project job kick offs and Ministry of Transportation construction meetings
Coordination of sub-contractors, materials and other resources necessary to meet and maintain project schedules
Coordination of logistics of mobilization of equipment and crew, as well as accommodation of crew as required
Responsible for timely and accurate month end reporting of labor and equipment hours, and hired truck and equipment time
Responsible for clear and detailed understanding of project contracts
Responsible to prepare contracts with subcontractors
Responsible for timely and accurate progress billing and invoicing
Participation to project estimates
Establishing and maintaining good relationships with employees, clients and internal or external resources
Participation and compliance with the principles described in the company safety program
Understanding and compliance with the principles of the company Code of Ethics.

Employment Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Supervision or Project Management
Ability to read and understand projects specifications and contract documents.
To be able to work well with others, “people skills”.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Good negotiation skills
Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean current drivers abstract.
Surveying skills required.
Computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word and Microsoft Project
Civil Engineering Technologist or equivalent education
