Caregiver (Private Home - Senior Support)

Job Summary

We are seeking a caring and dependable Caregiver to provide daily assistance and companionship to an elderly family member in a private home in Ottawa, Ontario. The successful candidate will support daily living activities, encourage independence, and promote comfort and dignity in a respectful home environment.

Main Duties

• Assist with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming

• Prepare nutritious meals, including traditional Chinese dishes

• Provide companionship and emotional support to the senior

• Support mobility and light physical exercises

• Administer medications as directed

• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and errands related to the senior’s care

• Observe and report any changes in health or behavior to the family

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school

• Minimum 1 year of recent, relevant experience as a caregiver (paid or volunteer)

• English communication skills required; knowledge of Mandarin is an asset to support the senior’s communication needs

• Experience preparing Chinese cuisine an asset

• Physically able to assist with mobility and light household duties

• Compassionate, patient, and trustworthy

Employment Conditions

• Location: Private home, Ottawa, Ontario

• Accommodation: Private room available at no charge, if required (not a condition of employment)

• Hours: Full-time, 30–40 hours per week

• Start Date: As soon as possible

• Wage: $28/hr

• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
