TITLE OF POSITION: Cook

JOB DUTIES/TASKS

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Organize and manage buffets and banquets
• Manage kitchen operations

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Permanent employment, Full time

LANGUAGE OF WORK: English

WAGE: $18.00 to 19.50 hourly (to be negotiated)

HOURS: 30 - 40 hours / week

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Night, Flexible hours

WORK SETTING: Restaurant, Bar

BENEFITS: Free meals during shift; Free uniform; Gratuities; Vacation pay - 4% remuneration from the gross earnings

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

• Work Experience: There is a minimum experience expectancy of 1 year to less than 2 years of commercial cooking or Completion of college or other program in cooking
