We are general contractor that provides full-service renovation to homeowners in the GTA. From design and construction to permits and finishes, we take on every aspect of your renovation project. We have a wide range of services to choose from, so you can get the perfect renovation for your home.

 

Position: Painter

Term: Permanent

Job Locations: Barrie, ON

Business Type: Paint and renovation

Number of Position: 2

Compensation: $26.10/ hour

Work hours: Minimum 35 to 40 hours per week

Language: English

 

Job responsibilities

  • Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
  • Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
  • Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings
  • Prepare, clean and sand surfaces to be painted
  • Preparing walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
  • Apply paint, wallpaper and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
  • Drywall taping/ patching, steam cleaning, sandblasters
  • Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture
  • Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
  • Apply varnish and other finishes
  • Calculate costs and negotiate prices
  • Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
  • Making on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
  • Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging

 

Employment Requirements

  • Must have good proficiency in English language, both written and verbal.
  • Completion on secondary school is usually required
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience is required
  • Experience in roller painting, conventional spray painting, brush painting & using patterned rollers is preferred
  • Team player and highly adaptive to work in culturally diverse environment
